COVID-19: Toronto Mayor is self-isolating – Today, Toronto Mayor John Tory said he is entering into 12 days of self-isolation under the recommendation of Toronto’s Medical officer of Health, Dr. Eileen de Villa, after his business trip to London, England.

Dr. de Villa has recommended that anyone who has travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days should then self-isolate for that same amount of time.

In the Mayor’s statement he said he is showing no symptoms and that “since the first case of COVID-19 appeared in Toronto, I have always stressed the impotance of following the advice of our medical experts,

Toronto’s mayor said that throughout his self-isolation he will be continue to perform his mayoral duties and represent Toronto as the city focuses on the COVOD-19 pandemic.

He concluded his statement by reaffirming the words of Prime Minister Trudeau. “As the Prime Minister said earlier today, this must be a Team Canada effort. I am committed to supporting that effort,” said Mayor Tory.
