Doing Cape Cod in style – Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster, MA, on Cape Cod is quite simply, breathtaking. When you enter this impeccably landscaped estate you are overwhelmed with its picturesque charm. The resort is situated on 420 magnificent acres overlooking postcard perfect white sandy beachfront.

Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club was originally a mansion years ago but it now serves as a family resort, with private villas, restaurants, spa, beach bar, beaches, five swimming pools, tennis courts, paddleboards and a variety of other activities.

We took part in an Oyster tour just steps away from our beach chairs. This was low tide walking excursion with water only up to our ankles. Our tour guide showed us natural and farmed Oysters. Cape Cod only issues nine Oyster permits for farming and one just happens to be close to the Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club beach. (Something I certainly recommend).

Amazing places to eat while staying on Cape Cod

The Ocean Edge Resort offer so many culinary treats and many different venues. You have the Ocean Terrace, The Beach Bar, The Front lawn, where they have outdoor pizza ovens, The Roscommon Room, Linx Tavern Bar (at the Golf Club), Shark Bah and my personal favourite Bayzo’s Pub and of course let’s not forget room service.

Ocean Terrace – A relaxed casual dinning experience with Cape Cod Bay as your backdrop. After a fine day at the beach it’s an incredible place to unwind with a glass of wine and great conversation. As the sun goes down the fire bowls warm up. The atmosphere while enjoying a cup of delicious New England clam chowder or fresh Brewster oyster, (which comes from the oyster farm just steps away).

Beach Bar – Taking the wooded boardwalk path through the forest and coming upon the magical place with its truly stunning views was one of the highlights of the property. The sunset is one of the most beautiful in North-America. On clear days, Provincetown is visible on the horizon. Great music, service, summer cocktails and a light menu. Try the Lobster Roll!

Bayzo’s Pub – This old style English pub situated in the lower level of the Mansion has it all. Live music to watching sports on TV an enjoying a craft local beer with steak frites, the seared scallops with apple ginger chutney, butternut squash risotto, and wilted greens, the sweet potato gnocchi. There is no going wrong with the Pub Burger which comes with cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and hand-cut pomme frites on a brioche bun! Wait till you try their home made bread and butter, WOW! Five star

Linx Tavern Bar – is situated in the cub house of the Golf course. The Linx Tavern is the perfect place to hangout for golfers and non-golfers alike. Enjoy a cold cocktail overlooking the first tee weather you have played a round of 18 holes or not. With two outdoor patios and a rotating schedule of live music the Linx Tavern has exactly what the Doctor ordered.

Cape Cod’s only Jack Nicklaus designed Golf Club

Ocean Edge Resort and Golf club private award-winning 18-hole golf club is appealing to all golfers. Generous fairways and well placed bunkers with pristine challenging greens. A Jack Nicklaus golf course must be played different than others. Jack likes to place hazards where your drive seems to go unfortunately.

The comfy seated golf carts have a GPS system which shows your distance to the flag where ever you may be for your next shot.

Driving up to the club house you see many of the holes awaiting your game. The Club House houses an amazing pro shop, large locker room, full bar and delicious restaurant with lovely terrace called The Linx. Food and service was exceptional. Clubs are also available for rental.

Author’s Note – I started out with a birdie and then Jack’s design took over my game. I needed to rethink every shot. This is a real mental game course. One of the nicest resort courses I have played.
