For cottagers or those looking for a fun day out
Jump into the Holidays in Kawartha Lakes! The 2024 holiday season is already upon us and for those with cottages in the region, permanent residents or those looking for a short road trip from the GTA, check out some of the upcoming parades and events happening in Kawartha Lakes:
Kawartha Lakes Festival of Trees
Friday November 15 to Sunday November 17
Kawartha Settlers’ Village, Bobcaygeon.
Lindsay Santa Claus Parade
Sunday November 17
Parade starts at 2pm at the Lindsay Recreation Centre.
Volunteer firefighters from Station 1 in Lindsay will be collecting spare change donations during the parade.
Kirkfield Lion’s Club Festival of Lights
Sunday November 24
Event runs from 2pm to 5pm at the Kirkfield Lion’s Hall, the tree lighting and caroling start at 4:30pm.
Non-perishable food donations are welcome.
Fenelon Falls Santa Day 25th Anniversary
Saturday November 30
Downtown activities run from 11am to 4pm. Parade starts at 5pm at West St. and Lindsay St. and will travel along Lindsay St. and Colborne St.
Fireworks start at 6pm.
Coboconk Santa Claus Parade
Sunday December 1
Parade starts at 1pm at the Civitan Club and travels along Hwy 35, ending at the Legion. Don’t forget to bring the kids into the Legion to meet Santa after the parade!
Pontypool Breakfast with Santa and Santa Claus Parade
Sunday December 1
Breakfast with Santa runs from 8am to 12:15pm, tickets can be bought at the November 16 Christmas Craft Show.
Parade starts at 6pm in downtown Pontypool.
Christmas in the Village, Kinmount
Thursday December 5 to Saturday December 7
Kinmount Tree Lighting, Thursday December 5 at 6:30pm, Kinmount Train Station
Kinmount holiday events, Saturday December 7:
- Breakfast with Santa 8:30am to 11am at Kinmount Legion Hall
- Farmer’s Market Christmas Open House 10am to 3pm at Kinmount Community Centre
- Visit Santa at the Kinmount Legion 2pm; pre-registration by e-mail is required by November 16
Christmas in the Hall and Omemee Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Friday December 6
Christmas in the Hall and Omemee Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Event starts at 6pm at Coronation Hall.
Omemee Santa Claus Parade
Saturday December 7
Event starts at 1pm at Scott Young Public School.
Christmas at Ken Reid
Saturday December 7
Join Kawartha Conservation at the Ken Reid Conservation Area for Christmas at Ken Reid. The event runs from 10am to 4pm and includes free activities like horse drawn wagon rides, a scavenger hunt, kids craft corner, Christmas story walks, visits with Santa, musical entertainment and more!
Don’t forget to check out the Illuminated Forest at Ken Reid Conservation Area in December. Open Nightly from 5 to 9pm.

Little Britain
Friday December 13
Little Britain Santa Claus Parade and Skate with Santa event, Little Britain Arena
Parade starts at 7pm and the skate will be from 8 to 10pm.
Bobcaygeon
Saturday December 14
Bobcaygeon Santa Claus Parade
Santa’s Breakfast 8am to 12pm at the Bobcaygeon Legion.
Parade starts at 5pm at Kawartha Dairy; fireworks start immediately following the parade at Bobcaygeon Beach Park at approximately 6:30pm.
Accepting food and toy donations for local families in need.
Woodville
Saturday December 21
Woodville Santa Claus Parade – Parade starts at 6:30pm.
Dunsford
Sunday December 22
Dunsford Santa Claus Parade
Parade starts at 12:45pm at the Community Centre.
Santa Day at the Dunsford Community Centre follows the parade.
The Santa Day event includes free activities for all, including a bouncy castle, face painting, carnival games, colouring contests, treats and a visit from Santa!
If you’re planning on attending any of these magical Holiday events, remember to bundle up and be prepared for the winter weather.
