Leslieville distillers have bar quality cocktails now on LCBO shelves

Canadian-crafted cocktails from Civil Pours now on LCBO shelves

TORONTO, ON – Toronto’s sustainable cocktail distillery Civil Pours has ready-to-pour Jalapeño Margarita and Cosmopolitan bottled cocktails now available at over 175 LCBO locations. Ontarians looking to shop and support Canadian businesses can now conveniently pick up Civil Pours at their local LCBO – and simply pour, serve and savour.

Offering an elevated twist on a classic recipe, the Civil Pours Cosmopolitan is made using the distillery’s proprietary vacuum-distilled orange and lime distillates along with locally sourced Muskoka cranberries to produce a delicious and fresh pink-hued cocktail perfect for spring and summer. The Civil Pours Jalapeño Margarita is made with blend of crisp lime and orange distillates, 100 percent agave spirit and sweet orange tincture with delicate herbaceous green notes and jalapeño distillate layered in to create a refreshing, full-flavoured and non-spicy margarita cocktail.

Born in 2022, Civil Pours is a Canadian low carbon footprint cocktail distillery dedicated to crafting premium, bar-quality cocktails for discerning drinkers, based in Toronto’s Leslieville neighbourhood.

“We’re thrilled that Civil Pours is on shelves at the LCBO, giving Ontarians more opportunities to experience our elevated ready-to-serve cocktails and support a Canadian small business,” said Chris Williamson, Director of Sales and Marketing, Civil Pours. “We’re confident our small-batch, hand-crafted spirits will become a staple for those looking to experience the future of ready-to-serve cocktails.”

Made in Canada and sustainably distilled without any artificial flavours, Civil Pours premium distilled spirits are expertly crafted by award-winning Canadian bartenders.

Packaged in beautiful glass bottles and best served chilled, Civil Pours offers a standard line-up of six delicious cocktail flavours – the Cosmopolitan, Old Fashioned, Margarita, Espresso Martini, Whisky Sour and Jalapeño Margarita. Civil Pours is also developing a new limited-edition Blackberry & Basil Gin Smash cocktail, in collaboration with their neighbour Reid’s Distillery, that will be available this May.

“Our revolutionary vacuum-distillation technology allows us to capture real, fresh flavours by distilling at room temperature,” said Williamson. “Everything you need is in the bottle – no need for mixes, garnishes or any other incremental ingredients!”

In addition to the LCBO, Civil Pours bottled cocktails are also available to purchase online at CivilPours.com with shipping across Ontario, as well as at independent shops across the province including all Eataly and select Dark Horse Espresso Bar locations in Toronto, La Bottega Nicastro Byward Market and Red Apron in Ottawa, MRKTBOX in Hamilton, and online at WineOnline.ca. Civil Pours cocktails are available in two bottle sizes – 750 mL and 240 mL.

All cocktails are shelf stable and will last for several months after being opened. While Civil Pours recommends chilling the cocktails for service, they can be stored at room temperature even after they’ve been opened.

With a passion for curious cocktails and extraordinary flavours, Civil Pours hosts a Will it Rotovap series where they ask their followers for suggestions about which ingredients they should distill, showcasing the wild flavour capture capabilities of their proprietary distilling technology. They have also worked with top bars including Lake Inez, Civil Works, Bar Sazerac, The Drake and Belle Isle to create custom limited-edition libations. Just some of the fun and wacky ingredients Civil Pours has distilled into spirits include Fruit Loops, Cheetos, Sour Patch Kids, pickles, beer hops, cherry donuts, hibiscus and Biscoff cookies. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement for the next Will it Rotovap installation.

Inspired to elevate the cocktail experience in every bar and hospitality establishment, Civil Pours also provides its ready-to-pour kegged draught cocktails to many leading Toronto establishments including Waterworks Food Hall (at Civil Works and the Central Bar), Steam Whistle’s Round House, Shake Shack Union Station, Sounds Good and BRKFREE.
