BREAKING NEWS–Toronto Police Operations have stated that the 14-year-old boy who had been abducted has been located. He is safe and being taken for a medical checkup.

All of Toronto is breathing easier now, especially the boy’s family.

The statement was released on the Toronto Police Operations twitter account.

An Amber Alert had been issued by Toronto Police on Thursday morning in the search for a 14-year-old boy named Shammah Jolayemi, who police confirmed was last seen screaming for help before being pushed into a black Jeep Wrangler by two men on Wednesday morning at 8:26 am in the Jane and Driftwood area of North York.

The family had called police about 5:30pm yesterday when the boy did not return home from school.

CityNews reported that Toronto police say the abduction of the boy was retribution for an unpaid drug debt owed by his stepbrother. Supt. Steven Watt said the drug deal dated back to the summer of 2019 and involved 100 kg of cocaine with an approximate value of $4-million.

A news conference will be held Friday morning.
