MISSISSAUGA, August 2, 2024 – Environment Canada has ended the heavy rain warning Special Weather Statement at 3 pm.
However there is a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms expected late evening.
Earlier today Environment Canada issued a special weather statement, warning of Torrential downpours. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 60 mm. Locally higher amounts possible.
Timing: Continuing into this evening.
Discussion: Slow-moving thunderstorms could produce locally heavy rainfall today. Rainfall warnings may be issued.
Now it seems the storms seem to be localized in Western Ontario according to the radar on both Accuweather and The Weather Network.

ECCC also warned of heavy downpours that can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
