Special Weather Statement issued for Toronto

TORONTO, March 30, 2022 – A Special weather statement has been issued for southern Ontario with a risk of freezing rain, ice pellets and snow expected this morning and early afternoon. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says there will be a 70% chance of freezing rain or ice pellets and snow in the Toronto area producing slippery driving conditions.

ECCC says “A mix of freezing rain, ice pellets and snow will move through this morning and early afternoon before changing to rain later this afternoon.”

Today’s forecast is for Increasing cloudiness. 70 percent chance of ice pellets or snow changing to 70 percent chance of freezing rain or ice pellets or snow late this morning and then to 70 percent chance of rain this afternoon. Wind becoming east 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning. High plus 5. Wind chill minus 9 this morning. UV index 2 or low.

Meanwhile the temperature is supposed to climb as high as 16 degrees Celsius on Thursday, with potential for damaging winds before dropping to 3 degrees on Friday.
