Toronto gets hit with another Winter Weather Advisory

TORONTO, Feb. 18, 2025 – Here we go again! Today, Toronto has been issued yet another Winter Weather Travel Advisory by Environment and Climate Change Canada. The snowfall amounts are not expected to be in line with the city’s other recent winter wallops, but with 5 cm expected starting this afternoon and into the evening, commuters are advised to be very careful on the roads.

ECCC says that a band of lake effect snow has move into the area and it will result in poor visibility on the roads just in time for Tuesday’s home commute. In addition, gusty winds may produce local blowing snow, reducing visibility. Snow is expected to end and winds will diminish this evening.

Weather Advisory in effect for:

  • City of Toronto

Details

What: Additional local snowfall amounts near 5 cm. Poor visibility at times in snow and local blowing snow, particularly over exposed areas.

When: Continuing into this evening.

Additional Information: Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
