Delve into Toronto Humane Society’s History at DOORS OPEN 2024

TORONTO, May 22, 2024 – Toronto invites you to unlock its architectural, historical, cultural, and socially significant treasures during the annual Doors Open event on May 25th and 26th. This year, the city will reveal its hidden history, offering a unique opportunity to delve into untold stories from across its diverse landscape. Among the participating sites, Toronto Humane Society proudly opens its doors to curious visitors. 

“Whether you’re an animal lover, a history buff, or simply curious about what happens behind-the-scenes at Toronto Humane Society, the Doors Open event promises an exciting experience for all,” explains Phil Nichols, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Toronto Humane Society. 

From 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days, Toronto Humane Society will welcome guests to explore its facilities as part of Doors Open 2024. Visitors will have the chance to embark on an engaging tour through Toronto Humane Society’s premises, view a special photo exhibit of Toronto Humane Society’s rich historic legacy, and learn about the organization’s current work that is improving the lives of animals. 

Plus, participants will see adorable animals available for adoption during their tour. Get ready to take some flash-free photos! 

Event Details:

  • 45-minute tours will be conducted for groups of 10 every 15 minutes, commencing from 10:00 a.m. Please note that there is no registration list, so it’s advisable to arrive prepared for potential waiting times outside the premises. 
  • Date: Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Please note that the last tour will commence at 4:30 p.m. Each tour is around 45 minutes. 
  • Location: 11 River Street, Toronto, Ontario, M5A 4C2
