Toronto to be hit with a messy mix of weather this weekend

November 29, 2019 – Torontonians may need to get out their shovels on the weekend as a Special Weather Statement has been issued by Environment Canada for the Toronto area.

Early Sunday morning a strengthening low pressure system is expected to deliver several hours of freezing rain or ice pellets before transitioning to snow Sunday afternoon in some areas of the city.

Light snow is then expected to continue through Sunday night before tapering off Monday morning but accumulations in some areas could range from 5 to 10 cm.

Environment Canada also states, “there remains some uncertainty as to the track of the low, however there is the potential that some areas could see total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm by Monday morning.”

To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
