TTC running extra subway service this Sunday for the Toronto Santa Claus Parade

TORONTO, Nov. 23, 2023 – Santa Claus is coming to town! This Sun., Nov. 26, the TTC is running extra subway service on Lines 1 and 2, with the Toronto Santa Claus Parade set to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the GTHA.

The TTC encourages customers to take transit to view the parade, with several subway stations located along or near the parade route, including Christie, Bathurst, Spadina, and St George on Line 2, and Museum, Queen’s Park, St. Patrick, Osgoode, Queen and King stations on Line 1.  

This year’s parade starts at 12:30 p.m. at Christie Pitts and will wind its way through the city, ending at St. Lawrence Market. Once again, the Holly Jolly Fun Run will kick off festivities, starting at 11:45 a.m. at 600 Bloor St. W.

Service on streetcar routes, including the 503 Kingston Rd., 504 King, 505 Dundas, 506 Carton, 510 Spadina, and 511 Bathurst, will be operating through gaps in the parade. The following bus routes will be diverting during the Santa Claus Parade and the Holly Jolly Fun Run:

13 Avenue Road
• 19 Bay
• 72 Pape
• 75 Sherbourne
• 94 Wellesley
• 121 Esplanade – River
• 126 Christie
• 300 Bloor-Danforth (from 7 a.m.)
• 501B and 501D Queen replacement buses

To avoid lines and plan a hassle-free return trip, customers are encouraged to use a PRESTO card, or purchase a two-ride or day pass PRESTO ticket. Two-ride and day pass PRESTO Tickets are available at Fare Vending Machines at all TTC subway stations or at any Shoppers Drug Mart location in Toronto. Adult-fare customers can also tap-on using their debit or credit card, including cards in a mobile wallet. Children 12 and under ride free.
