TTC weekend diversions announced due to Coronation, Marathon, TFC and more – May 6, 7
TORONTO, May 4, 2023 – Toronto springs to life this weekend with special events being held throughout the city, and the TTC is the best way to reach all the action. Weekend events casuing diversion or road closures include celebrations for the coronation of King Charles III and Toronto FC game on Saturday, and the Toronto Marathon, Ontario Police Memorial and Khalsa Day Parade happening on Sunday.
From diverting around road closures to adding service for Leafs fans, the TTC says it has it covered to get customers safely to and from events.
Saturday, May 6
Diversions for road closures will be in place for events to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and the Toronto FC game, including:
• 13 Avenue Road, from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• 94 Wellesley from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• 29 Dufferin from 5 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Sunday, May 7
The Toronto Marathon is back in the city and several TTC bus and streetcar routes will divert to accommodate road closures, including:

Diversions for road closures will also be in place for the Ontario Police Memorial and Khalsa Day Parade, including:
• 13 Avenue Road from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• 94 Wellesley from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• 36 Finch West, 96 Wilson and 927B & D Highway 27 Express from 12 – 7 p.m.
• 52D Lawrence West from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Go Leafs Go!
The TTC is helping fans cheer on the Leafs in game three of the Stanley Cup second round playoffs this Sunday, with additional service on key routes to ensure everyone can get to and from Maple Leaf Square as efficiently as possible.
– Five additional subway trains will be available on Line 1 when the game ends.
– Extra TTC staff will be stationed at Union Station and other locations throughout the downtown core to help direct customers, answer questions and manage crowds.
– For those preferring to take a bus, the 19 Bay, 72B Pape and 121 Esplanade-River are reliable alternatives to and from Scotiabank Arena and the surrounding area.
Depending of the size of crowds, some streets may be closed and TTC routes may be required to divert.
Also from Sunday, bus and streetcar service at Main Street Station will be relocated due to construction of a new bus and streetcar loop. Pedestrian access to the station entrance and subway will be maintained.
