TORONTO, January 29, 2023 – A Winter weather travel advisory has been issued today by Environment and Climate Change Canada for Toronto and most of southern Ontario. Most of the expected snow will arrive Sunday afternoon, There is not a need to get too concerned about snow accumulations in Toronto but getting around town still should be undertaken with caution as snowfall amounts of 3 to 5 cm are expected.

However, some areas north of the city, such as Caledon, Grey-Bruce, Dufferin-Innisfil along with the Waterloo-Wellington area could receive 5 cm – 10cm.

As a result ECCC warns of slippery surfaces due to accumulating snow.

Today’s somewhat wet snowfall is the result of a low pressure system tracking northeast across southern Ontario.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
