TORONTO, ON., April 30, 2020 – Today, the Toronto Blue Jays announced that they will be providing refunds or account credits to fans with tickets for games scheduled from opening day March 26 through May 31.
Yesterday, Major League Baseball had given its teams permission decide on their own refund policies, due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic will make it impossible to complete a full 162-game season. Today, the Jays released their ticket policy stating that those with season-ticket memberships, ticket packs, executive suite licence holders and group-ticket holders will receive information directly on how to get obtain an account credit with the option to obtain a refund. While single game ticket holders can request a refund through their Ticketmaster accounts.
The Jays also advise fans who purchase tickets from secondary sites to contact the company’s customer service department.
MLB still hopes to salvage some of the season but it could be holding games in empty stadiums until rules about mass gatherings are eased.
The Toronto Blue Jays organisation also thanked fans for their incredible support and patience during this time.
