TORONTO, March 21, 2022 — A 4,000-square-foot night market in the style of the popular alleyways of Asia with indoor and outdoor seating is coming to Toronto next month. Located at 384 Bloor Street West (former Annex Food Hall), Superfresh will showcase Asian-led and owned businesses across the city combining food, drinks, live entertainment, a bodega and other planned secret events under one roof—making it the ultimate experience, no matter what time of day you decide to stop by.

Superfresh will bring together vendors and brands highlighting different geographical regions of Asia, from Northern China and Nepal to Taiwan and Korea.

The Superfresh name pays homage to the first 24hr Korean-owned grocery store once located in the heart of the Annex. “We are going back to where we started – back to Superfresh and to the culture and food that we grew up with – to open a venue that will offer some of the most authentic, Asian cuisines in a unique space where it’s not just about the food but the story behind the food & beverage, people, culture and how it ties into our city,” said co-founder James Lee.

The full vendor line-up will be released later this month and will include local favourites like BaoBird by Joybird Fried Chicken, Big Beef Bowl, The Good Goods, and the Asian-owned superette Auntie’s Supply amongst many others. Superfresh will also be home to an array of community programming including artisan markets, live DJ’s, pop-ups, fashion events and more. One thing is for sure, heritage and community will always be at the forefront.

The concept behind Superfresh is the brainchild of James Lee (Annex Food Hall), Trevor Lui (BaoBird, Highbell Group), Jae Pak (award winning creative leader) and Dave Choi (entrepreneur). “We wanted to create a community and cultural hub, not just simply a spot to eat,” said co-owner Trevor Lui, “By curating an entirely authentic and fully Asian concept, it allows us to celebrate much of the things we hold near and dear to our hearts in creating a unique and inclusive space for locals and tourists to explore.”
