Premier Ford honours memory of those lost in tragic Mosque shooting in Quebec — TORONTO, ON., January 29, 2021 ― Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to commemorate the anniversary of the tragic shooting at the Islamic Cultural Centre in Quebec City:

“Today, we join the Muslim community in Ontario and across the country in honouring the memory of the victims who were murdered in a senseless act of terrorism and violence at the Islamic Cultural Centre in Quebec City four years ago.

We grieve with their families and members of their community as they continue to struggle with this tragic loss. We stand together with them and renew our commitment to defending our fundamental right as Canadians to worship freely. Our government believes every person has the right to practise their faith free of violence and fear.

Islamophobia and hate have no place in our society. May we continue to stand united in our desire to build a more open and inclusive province for all.”
