“We have been eyeing this incredible opportunity in Canada for quite some time, and are elated to have found exceptional partners to serve Shack classics and bespoke Canada-exclusive items to our sophisticated neighbours to the north,” said Michael Kark, the chain’s global licensing officer.

This is huge foodie news for Toronto and Canada. Thousands lined up in 2017 when Shake Shack opened a pop-up location in Toronto for just one day at Momofuku Daisho – a former steakhouse in downtown Toronto. The pop-up was serving their signature ShackBurgers and fries, with $1 per order going towards SickKids. At the time they said they may eventually come to Canada. And it looks like the time is now.

Shake Shack have yet to disclose exactly where in Toronto the first location will open but the flagship store is expected to be up and running in 2024 (no date specified).
