TORONTO, February 13, 2025 – It’s the phrase that most kids love to hear; today is a “Snow Day.” Toronto District School Board, Peel District School Board and all other school boards across the GTHA have cancelled buses and school for Thursday, February 13 due to the massive snowfall that took place over night.

Elementary and Secondary schools closed

Weather bureaus are reporting 20 plus cm of snow has fallen in the Greater Toronto Area, rendering transportation a challenge and prompting the closure of all Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area elementary and secondary schools to close.

Niagara Schools Open, buses cancelled

Niagara District School Board and Niagara Catholic District School Board are keeping their schools open but buses have been cancelled.

More snow coming

The City of Toronto warns that another 10 cm of snow is expected on each of Saturday and Sunday, with total snowfall accumulation from the two weather events expected to reach up to 35 centimetres.

While the Major Snowstorm Condition is in effect, the City encourages the public to leave their vehicles at home and use public transit where possible. More information will be posted on the TTC  and GO Transit  websites. Keep in mind there will also be transit delays and cancellations.
