TORONTO, Dec. 31, 2022 – In case anyone is till wondering how Toronto is ringing in 2023, this is a reminder that the City of Toronto will be presenting a New Year’s Eve fireworks show across downtown Toronto’s waterfront, there will be no major festivities at Nathan Philips Square aside from the existing lighting displays and public skating.

What is happening in Toronto on New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, there will be two synchronized 15-minute, high-altitude fireworks displays launched across Toronto’s downtown waterfront, viewable from anywhere with views of Toronto’s inner harbour.

Residents can watch the fireworks from viewing areas along Toronto’s downtown waterfront or tune in to a livestream set to a soundtrack of Canadian and International music artists on the City’s CultureTO YouTube channel .

“I am delighted to announce that we will once again be coming together as a city to ring in the New Year in-person with waterfront fireworks to celebrate the resiliency of Torontonians throughout the pandemic. I encourage everyone to enjoy the high-altitude fireworks display, whether it’s in person at the harbour or online with friends and family via the livestream, and to watch for more details about Stronger TOgether programming in 2023.”
– Mayor John Tory
