What’s open and closed in Toronto this Easter holiday weekend

Our City of Toronto has kindly provided a comprehensive guide to all of their activities, operations and facilities with planned openings and closures for Easter weekend – Friday, March 29, through Monday, April 1, 2024. Additionally, here you will find what else is open and closed in Toronto over Easter weekend, including details about grocery stores, malls, Toronto attractions, LCBO and more.

Toronto Community Centres 

On March 29, and April 1, all community recreation facilities will be closed. Regularly scheduled drop-in programs and registered activities will operate on Saturday, March 30, and Sunday, March 31. More information and schedules are available by visiting the City’s Recreation webpage. The L’Amoreaux Tennis Centre will operate on regular hours on March 29 and April 1 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

High Park Animal Display 

Toronto’s oldest animal display is open daily over the long weekend between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. High Park visitors are reminded that park roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from March 29 – March 31, of the long weekend. More information at the City’s Zoos & Farms webpage.

Riverdale Farm 

Residents and visitors to Toronto can visit a working farm in the city’s centre. Riverdale Farm is open daily all weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free. More information about the farm is available on the City’s Zoos & Farms webpage

Conservatories 

The conservatories are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the holiday weekend. For additional details, visit the City’s Conservatories webpage

Toronto History Museums

Toronto History Museums will be closed on Friday, March 29. Sites are open on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31 and closed on Monday as per regular working hours. More information and visiting hours are available on Toronto History Museums webpage.

Cultural Centres & Art Galleries

Cedar Ridge Creative Centre, Assembly Hall and Clark Centre for the Arts are closed on Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1. The sites are open on Saturday March 30 and Sunday March 31, from 9 am to 4 pm. The Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery is closed from Friday, March 29 through Monday, April 1. St. Lawrence Market

The St. Lawrence Market Complex has modified hours of operation for the long weekend.

Customers will be able to shop at the Market during the following hours of operation:

The South Market (main building, located at 91-95 Front Street East) will be closed on March 29, March 31 and April 1 and open on Thursday, March 28, from9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 30, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Saturday Farmers Market. located inside the Temporary Market at 125 The Esplanade, will be open on Saturday, March 30, from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Grocery Stores

The majority of grocery stores in Toronto will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but Loblaws on Carlton Street will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Good Friday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

Rabba Fine Foods stores will be open on both days.

Garbage Collection and Recycling

There will regular service for daytime curbside residential waste collection and nighttime curbside residential and commercial customers during the holiday. Drop-off depots and transfer stations will be open to the public on Friday, March 29 for drop-off of garbage, yard waste, recyclables, household hazardous waste and electronics but will be closed Monday, April 1. LCBO Easter weekend hours

The LCBO is also closed both Friday and Sunday. LCBO will be open for regular hours on Saturday and select locations will be open under reduced hours on Monday.

Beer Store, Shopping Malls and Banks

Beer Store is closed both Friday and Sunday. Shopping malls and Banks will also be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Eaton Centre open

CF Toronto Eaton Centre will be OPEN from 11 am to 7 pm on Good Friday and 11 am to 5 pm on Easter Sunday.
