TORONTO, Feb. 8, 2025 – A Winter weather travel advisory for the GTA is in effect for this afternoon and tonight. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) warns of snowfall acciumulations of 10 to 15 cm, that will not only cause sompromised driving conditions, it may also result in low visinility on the roads.
ECCC advises those planning to head out later today, to allow more time to get where you are going, as the heaviest snowfall is expecterd to take place Saturday evening, The snow is expected to taper to flurries Sunday morning.

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this afternoon and tonight.
What: Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm. Reduced visibility in areas of heavier snow.
When: Beginning this afternoon, continuing tonight.
Additional information: Snow associated with a fast moving low pressure system will begin this afternoon. The heaviest snowfall is expected this evening. Snow will taper to flurries early Sunday morning.
Be carefiul out there
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
