Winter Weather Travel Advisory issued for Toronto area this evening
TORONTO, ON., March 1, 2021 — Following the special weather statement issued earlier today warning of high winds of up to 80 km/h and extreme cold, Environment Canada and Climate Change has now issued a winter weather travel advisory saying, brief periods of poor visibility in heavy snow will impact area roads.
Environment Canada and Climate Change warns of “Periods of poor visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow across portions of the Greater Toronto Area including Toronto, Durham Region, York Region and more.
Weather advisory in effect for:
- Toronto
- Burlington – Oakville
- Halton Hills – Milton
- Mississauga – Brampton
- Durham
- York
The advisory issued at 3:30 pm is in effect from now through this evening.
If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
