Hey Toronto! Skate into 2025 with Mayor Chow and members of City Council
TORONTO, Jan. 3, 2024 – On Sunday, January 5, 2025 Toronto residents are invited to ring in the new year with a fun-filled afternoon of skating, hot chocolate and activities as part of the Annual New Year’s Skating Party, hosted by Mayor Olivia Chow and members of Toronto City Council. This free, all-ages celebration will take place simultaneously at four Toronto locations including two skate trails, bringing the festivities into local communities.
It goest without saying that one of the four free skating locations is right in front of City Hall at the iconic Nathan Phillips Square, but the City has included three other New Year’s Skating venues, essentially bringing the celebration to the east, west and north of the city as well.

Date: Sunday, January 5
Time: 1 to 5 p.m., with remarks at 1:05 p.m.
Location: McCowan District Park Skating Trail, 150 McCowan Rd.
This year’s New Year’s skating party will also be held at the following locations – all from 1 to 5 p.m.:
- North Toronto Memorial Community Centre, 200 Eglinton Ave. W.
- Colonel Sam Smith Park Skating Trail, 65 Colonel Sam Smith Park Dr.
- Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.
