Summer Wednesdays are back at Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto

Toronto’s Mid-week destination for local fare, live music and art performances, yoga, trivia and more – from June 22 to September 28, 2022; special Pride celebration on June 29 at 7 p.m

TORONTO, ONTARIO (June 22, 2022) – Welcome back to summer in the Valley! After a two-year hiatus, Evergreen’s Summer Wednesdays returns to the Brick Works. This free mid-week event offers some of the best local food, drink and outdoor activities in the heart of Toronto’s Don Valley. Summer Wednesdays kicks off on June 22 with trivia hosted by Question Everything Trivia, followed by a special Pride Month celebration on June 29, 2022. Family Pride, featuring drag performances from Selena Vyle, Manny Dingo and Weird Alice, kicks off a new season of Evergreen’s Cultural Performing Arts Series, supported by Bank of America.

“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to Evergreen Brick Works, a vibrant cultural hub and gateway to explore Toronto’s ravine system,” said Orit Sarfaty, Chief Program Officer at Evergreen. “Our much-loved Summer Wednesdays is a season-long celebration of food and community, creating a meeting place where people can be active outdoors and engaged with others. These are key ingredients to building livable, sustainable and green cities.”

Every Wednesday visitors can enjoy summer fare from a selection of local food trucks or pre-book tickets to a homestyle meal featuring seasonal ingredients sourced from Evergreen’s Saturday Farmers Market and baked in the wood-fired oven in the Children’s Garden. Then, chill out with an ice-cold drink from the Sipping Container, featuring local favourites like Brickworks Cider. Check to see what’s on each week, before taking in live music, trivia, night markets, art performances and dance and yoga classes in Koerner Gardens. The summer fun runs every Wednesday from June 22 to September 28, 2022, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

For more outdoor activity, visitors can soak up the setting sun with a walk through the 40-acre area that surrounds Evergreen Brick Works and hike up to the lookout to take in an incredible view of the Toronto skyline.

The event is free to attend. Food and drink are available for purchase. Some activities require pre-registration.

Getting to Evergreen Brickworks

Evergreen Brick Works is accessible by walking, biking, driving, public transit, ride sharing with discounted codes through Lyft, and by free shuttle bus service from Broadview Station. The shuttle bus service from the parkette north of Broadview Station will be extended to run every 15 minutes from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
