Toronto’s Harbourfront skating rink is officially open for the season

The Natrel Rink at Harbourfront Centre is the first of Toronto’s more than 113 outdoor and indoor skating rinks to officially open. Thanks to the colder temperatures, skaters were able to lace up and take to the lakefront ice on November 16, 2019. It’s one of the city’s most romantic skating destinations, idyllically set with beautiful views of Toronto harbour and the backdrop of Canada’s largest city. And even better, the skating here is free.

One of Toronto’s most popular skating destinations for 30 plus years, the Natrel Rink at Harbourfront Centre has a fairyland skating atmosphere with beautifully lit trees, festive music, those familiar childhood sounds of blades crunching ice, and heated indoor changing rooms with lockers and washrooms.

The lakeside rink is also gearing up for an exciting season of rinkside DJ Skate Nights. A rotating lineup of some of Toronto’s top spinners crank out the groovy tunes every Saturday night beginning December 14 until February 15, with a special New Year’s Eve skate party planned.

Aside from the idyllic lakefront setting, the best thing about skating at the Natrel Rink – it’s FREE

And if you don’t have skates or a helmet (not a must, but recommended) there is no need to sulk because affordable rentals are located in their cosy Skate Change Room, right beside the Natrel Rink. Skates can be rented ahead of time starting on December 1.

The Natrel Rink at Harbourfront Centre, located at 235 Queens Quay West is open Sunday to Thursday from 9 am to 10 pm, and Friday to Saturday from 9 am to 11 pm.

Please note: Children 10 and under must be actively supervised by a responsible person aged 16 or older. Also note, there are NO HOCKEY STICKS ALLOWED.
