With Lead Generation services largely shifting online, competition is increasing. As more and more companies are looking to make a switch to online marketing as opposed to traditional channels, we are launching an interview series to cover Online Integration for businesses with Sasha Matviienko – Director of Digital at growth360 – Online Marketing agency in Toronto.

What makes a great website?

Sasha, what is the first step to establish an online presence for business?

Launching a website should always be a priority. Websites serve as a platform for all of your online marketing presence.

The thing is, most of prospects don’t buy because they saw your ad on Google or Facebook.

They buy because they went to your website and they liked what they saw and this is why they decided to give you a call.

We’ve proven this time and time again in industries from online beauty retail to network cabling & other services.

Sasha, What is the First Step to Success Online & Why?

Quality of your website can make or break your online marketing. Website is where most of your Leads will go in order to get an impression of your business.

No matter if people found you on Google, clicked on your Ad or if it’s your neighbour you told that you run a company that can help him.

All these people will go to your website first in order to get an idea of your company – past projects, portfolio, overall design.

What should a good-looking website include?

This is a deciding factor for your online marketing.

It’s your storefront – so every part of your website is important and has to be of the best quality:

  • Page Load Speed – if your website takes ten seconds to load, you will loose most of prospects before they even get to the site.

  • Telling a story – if your website loads fast but doesn’t tell a story, you won’t make a Sale either.

  • Optimized to Generate Leads – you may check the first two boxes, but if your website doesn’t capture Leads at a respectable rate – no Sales for you!

Finally, you website plays it’s role in how well you rank online – Cost of Clicks in advertising, SEO rankings etc.

So yes, if you are serious about generating Revenue online, website is the place to start. No matter if you are a beauty retailer or a construction company – always start with website.

When building a good looking website one of the most common mistakes is not having a clear focus on what the website should achieve

There are a Number of Content Management Systems (CMS) Systems out there – is there any difference with what system to choose?

It depends and there is a number of things to consider – including any special requirements (e.g. specific inventory management system for eCommece stores) or your familiarity with one system or another.

With that said, in 2022 most CMS systems have already solved many of the flaws they used to have in the past.

So unless you have special requirements for your CMS, I would recommend experimenting with a couple and see which one seems easier to use.

Are Any of the CMS Systems Better When it Comes to eCommerce?

There are a few that come to mind: Shopify, Magento, and WooCommerce.

– If you’re looking for an all-in-one solution that includes hosting, security, and support, then Shopify might be a good option.

– Wix is another popular option to consider. These websites are perfect for small to medium-sized businesses that prefer simplified processes and a well-integrated system.

– Magento is another popular eCommerce platform that’s used by larger businesses. It’s known for being very flexible and customizable, but it can also be complex to use.

– WooCommerce is a good option if you’re already using WordPress for your website. It’s a free plugin that turns your WordPress site into an eCommerce store. It’s a good combination between a standardized approach and the flexibility to modify how this system works for you.

While each Content Management System comes with its benefits – it is important to understand your specific requirements & what your business wants to accomplish. This way you will be able to find a solution that checks all the boxes.

For example, for Korean Ginseng Corp – beautiful product page designs are combined with the flexibility that they need for their business.

Which CMS is the Best for SEO?

Google has stated multiple times that from their perspective all CMS systems can rank #1 and there is no one particular favourite.

I can add from myself that we have clients that rank number one on Google in competitive industries like Network Cabling with Wix websites, WordPress, Shopify and others.

As Google likes to put it, focus on the User Experience, not Google’s algorithm. The algorithm itself is design to find the best answers to User’s questions, not a particular CMS system.

What Would you Say to our Audience?

I’d say if you are considering building a website, choose you CMS wisely – you need to account for a future. Because if you decide to migrate CMS, it might be a costly process.

Unfortunately as internet marketers, we see this happen all the time – companies make a $500 decision without thinking it through and later on end up with a costly migration project that can last for months and months. And the worst part – they don’t get as much Revenue as they could.

So choose wisely!
